Ask Anything

During OpenArt 2026, Örebro Art Gallery is presenting an extensive exhibition featuring Varvara & Mar, an international artist duo that has been exploring the intersection between art and technological systems since 2009.

For this exhibition, Ask Anything, the duo explores themes such as artificial intelligence, and switches focus between fascination with the possibilities of the technology and a critical reflection on its effects. The duo creates situations that activate the audience and uncover the relationships between human, nature and machine. In the work Keep Smiling, the audience undergoes a fictitious job interview in which AI only assesses how much the participant smiles and fires anyone who doesn’t reach the right level.
