Nothing Personal

Photographs from Nikita Teryoshin’s series Nothing Personal are on display outside St. Nicholas Church. The photos were taken at weapons fairs that were closed to the public during the years 2016–2025 in Europe, Africa, Asia, and North and South America. An oversized playground for adults emerges in the images, with wine, finger food and shiny weapons systems. The dead bodies are mannequins or pixels on screens. Bazookas and machine guns are connected to flat-screen televisions and wars are staged in artificial environments in front of stands filled with ministers, heads of state and businessmen. Teryoshin lives and works in Berlin. His father worked as a theatre set designer, which sparked an early interest in the behind-the-scenes world of media, industry and politics.
