The Memory Pot

The Memory Pot is a papier-mâché sculpture with a surface reminiscent of an old archaeological find. The pot bears symbols from Bamiyan and the culture that developed along the Silk Road. The vessel recurs in Sanaz Hakimi’s art as a carrier of memories and imagination. It collects stories and people, landscapes and experiences from different generations, along with new images that emerge from the artist’s own imagination.
