The Soul of the Mountains
Sanaz Hakimi, sculpture

Photo: Terese Sundh
Artist Sanaz Hakimi takes inspiration from the Bamiyan Mountains and the historic Silk Road, where images and sculptures from different eras bear witness to how cultures have met and changed over time. The Soul of the Mountain can be seen as a messenger from these landscapes. A strange shape emerges from the material and becomes a figure that resembles both a human and a goat. It carries many layers of memories from its homeland and brings with it myths into our own time.
