OpenArt Links Askersund: Det nya landet

In his work with the mural The New Country, Anders Tolergård has collaborated with children and young people in Askersund. Many different voices call to us from the wall. Words, figures and symbols meet and collide, as fragments of how the world might look or could become. The figures of children emerge as cut-out shapes, both present and in motion, as if they are on their way somewhere. There is no finished story here, but rather an ongoing conversation about the future. The round building gives the painting an almost sculptural presence. The perspective shifts as you move around it, and the image continues to change depending on where you are standing.
