Benedetto Bufalino

Outside there is four cars of different sizes and models are lined up on a street. Above the cars, the artist has built an orange running track with two tracks that follow the roof and shapes of the cars. The artwork opens up to the idea of a running race over the cars and in the picture a child has climbed onto the running track and is ready.

With a light-hearted tone, Bufalino creates installations that make us reflect on the everyday objects we surround ourselves with. What actually is the car’s place in the city, and why are there not more opportunities for play for all ages in the urban environment?

Along the contours of four abandoned cars, a running track has been constructed. This artwork is here to be seized upon and used. How does it feel to be in a situation that you have maybe never experienced before, or will ever experience again?
