Tree trunks rise up as if in a grove. They seem to be looking at us, through pairs of square-shaped holes on USB flash drive connectors. Moore’s work "Memory Bathing" invites us to take part in shinrin-yoku or ‘forest bathing’ – contemplation and reflection – in a transboundary space between nature and technology.

USB flash drives are used to store human documents, pictures and experiences from computers. In trees, memories from nature’s shifts and human impact on the environment are stored, year after year. The artist’s USB trees observe and code the landscape – give us a picture of the world as a computer in which everything is connected. Moore wants to awaken our own memories from trees – and thoughts about how nature is used and exploited. The artist herself sees the need for human co-existence with nature.

At the edge of Svartån, in the water, on the paving and in the flower beds, wooden logs with a USB memory stick at the top are placed vertically. A woman sits on a park bench in front of the water.

In the foreground you can see a close-up of the top of one of the logs, where the metal object that is supposed to represent a USB stick sits, in the background you can see the other logs in the installation.
