Anna Koben

On a house facade two black shadows are painted with black, the shadows are of a human figure and a dog, red color envelops the shadows and fills the entire wall. In the painting, it is the dog that is out walking with the human on a leash. Two sculptures are placed in front of the facade, one is a human figure who is out walking with a dog on a leash.

"My dog, my best friend, and I on a walk
She shows the way
Everyone should follow the dog"

In her imagery, Anna Koben mixes the distorted with the beautiful and her playful, humorous and affectionate artwork at OPENART 2022 is about a real relationship between two individuals: Koben and her dog Båtsman. When we asked Koben what type of place would be exciting to work with for an outdoor installation, she asked for a place that she could cheer up. (But what exactly is going on with the shadows…?)

Close-up of the human figure taken from below. Tattoos are visible on the face and the person is wearing a black shirt with different patterns on it. It holds out its arm to hold a leash.
