Christian Ristow

I believe that art’s most important capacity is to facilitate change and growth in the viewer through the provoking of an emotional response.

During my career my artistic output has transitioned from mechanical and unemotional work, exemplified by my early focus on robots, to work that embraces the human, the female, and the emotional, exemplified by my current focus on the human body. I am excited to present two new sculptures at Open Art 2026, which mark the first time I am combining traditional figurative sculpture with mechanical elements.
