1986, Sweden

My art projects often begin in everyday objects and phenomena. The school, the locker room, the forest and electricity are some recurring themes. The works are often idea-based, and the expression and materials depend on the location and situation. The conversations around the work, and the encounter itself, are important. Sometimes the conversation becomes part of the work; sometimes it is a starting point that sets my own process in motion. Interviews can function as a method for making aesthetic decisions for the final result. In the artistic process, I collect and use materials that I, or experts in the field, consider to belong to the logic of the work. Even though the starting point is often theoretical, and text is present in one way or another, the artworks themselves usually end up as something material and spatial. They may take the form of installations, video works, embroideries, performances using artefacts, or text-based works.

I was born in Falun, Sweden, where I am also currently based. My artistic education includes studies at Konstfack in Stockholm, but in my artistic practice I also draw on my background in pedagogy and didactics as well as textiles and craft.

This artwork is part of OPENART LINKS and is located in Tivedstorp, Laxå.
