As the duo Rören/Johannessen, we explore public space through participatory processes, public inquiry, and cross-disciplinary alliances. Earth’s instability and our planetary condition shape our practice, where sculptural and social manifestations open new ways of thinking and forming communities. The needs of human and more-than-human inhabitants guide site-specific processes that generate large-scale works which unsettle dominant power dynamics, spark curiosity, and expand interpretation.
